Q&A Beauty Secrets Ft. The Fashionista’s Diary

eména spa: Why did you initially start a blog?
Lauren of The Fashionista’s Diary: For me, my blog is my escape. I’ve always loved anything and everything having to do with fashion and writing. I’m actually studying Broadcast Journalism, so this is a dream for me. I want to inspire people and show them different outfit ideas that they may not have thought of on their own. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do ever since social media got big!

eména spa: Is there a story behind your blog’s title? If so, please share.
Lauren: Yes! Since I was in elementary school, people always called me a “fashionista.” It took me a while to think of a name that suited me and my personal life. I came up with “The Fashionista’s Diary” because it documents my outfit diaries and the evolution of my personal style, and as people have always told me, I can be a true fashionista!

eména epa: What do you do when you are not blogging?
Lauren: I’m a full-time student at the University of Miami, so when I’m not blogging I’m either at school, doing some homework or spending time with my family! They have been so amazing to me and I can’t imagine it any other way.

eména spa: Please share one hair or beauty tip with us.
Lauren: One beauty tip I would have is to not overdo it on the makeup. If you are going to go for dark red lips, lighten up your eyeshadow, that way you have a balance. Also, for spring and summer, try out neutral colors on your eyes!

eména spa: What’s your daily makeup routine?
Lauren: If I’m just going to school, it’s tinted moisturizer, some powder and mascara. If I’m going out or getting ready for shoots, I’ll wear foundation (oil-free), powder, blush and I’ll use neutral color palettes on my eyes! I don’t ever wear a lot of makeup. I really believe that simplicity is key!

eména spa: What are some beauty/fashion trends we should look out for?
Lauren: Definitely look out for the blush tones this spring and summer. Light pinks, nudes and blush are really in this season. I also love the crop top trend, as long as you wear it with something high waisted, like a skirt. You can look at my blog for inspiration!
